Visit to the Fire Station
Despite one of the fire engines being called out twice during our visit…we still managed to fit in a tour of the fire engine, a tour of the fire station and a minutes silence outside the fire station with the remain fire crew .
The children had a lovely morning competing in Mayow Park on Friday 16th June. The children completed 11 different events and were competing in their house teams. The overall winners were:

On Thursday 18th May 2AJ headed off with the rest of KS1 to Horton Kirby Environmental Centre. The children were focusing on the categorisation of plants and had a special trip into the woods to discover the various plants found in the countryside and compare them to those that they would find in their local area.
2AJ’s trip to the Horniman Museum
2AJ had a wonderful day trip to the Horniman Museum on Monday 22nd May. They had a look at the different collections of art/sculptures/music before going to visit the aquarium and finally the Robotic Zoo exhibition currently on at the museum. Lauren returned exclaiming it was ‘an amazing day!’ The sun shone all day enabling them to enjoy their picnic lunch outside too. Thank you to all the staff and parents for accompanying the children.
2AJ’s trip to Forest Hill Library
On Thursday 20th April Ms Albrecht, Ms Pescod and Ms Dawkins took 2AJ to the local library. They returned their books, picked new ones, had a wonderful story read to them by the volunteer librarian and ended their trip with a visit to Mayow park.
Roots of Empathy
Update…look at our baby now. He has changed so much!
We were very excited to meet our baby for the first time. Isn’t he lovely! We can’t wait to see what he does next.
The children were using decimetre squares and tape measures to measure items in the class and in the playground.
For book week we really enjoyed listening to all the different Tinga Tinga Tales…. We even made masks.
