The infants have been busy over the past few months caring for their daffodils in preparation for Judgement Day! We received our bulbs back in October and planted them in their pots. They had to be kept in a dark cupboard for 10 weeks and were then brought out into the daylight. The children have done a fantastic job watering their plants, bringing them inside when it got too frosty and making sure they got plenty of sunshine.
On the 8th March 2016 Mr Glover our Flower Judge visited the school. He was overwhelmed with the array of daffodils and how beautiful they were all presented. He was also very impressed with our bulbs which we replanted in the ground from last years’ competition batch.
We received lots of Gold and Silver awards and now await to hear how we did in comparison to the other schools who were judged.
Thank you to Mrs Dwyer, Mrs Gallagher, Mrs Kelly, Mrs Dawkins and Mr Dodsworth for helping display the daffodils beautifully on the day.
